Can You Attract?

Are you new at school, organizations or other school clubs? Or new to a particular place where you don’t know anyone?
Everybody experience it, not only you! But then, don’t you think that it is so sad to go to a party or in a school without someone you know? And the hardest part is how to attract a new friend.
Here are some pointers according to the book I have read entitled: Black Book on “Cool” by Blaine Bartel and some are my insights about it.
First on the list is to “SMILE”. It’s a very small thing but it really means a lot. Giving it to someone you exactly don’t know will give them happiness and at the same time, it will be a sign for a new friendship with them. But remember this verse, “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24). When you give your smile, pour it out with love and truthfulness to have a new friend not only a companion because there is a big difference between the two according to the verse. Companions may go but friends will last forever.
Second is to “LISTEN”. Selfishness is in nature of man specially when talking to others but for us to attract friends, we must always listen first. Let them talk first about their opinions or ideas and then respond. It’s always better to listen first and not thinking about what are you going to say while listening because you will fully understand what the person is saying and it benefits you also because you are learning from them, at the same time it will help you to know the person. Let us always be reminded by this. “Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.”
T he third one is being “DEPENDABLE”. Let them know that you are always there for them. I remember this phrase from a song, “ Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, all you’ve got to do is call and I’ll be there, you’ve got a friend”. Isn’t it right? That a friend is not only there in good and fun times but will always be there in times of sadness and heartaches. It’s an overwhelming feeling to know that a friend is always there. So guys, don’t you think that it’s a nice thing to do, to secure our friends that we will always be there?
The fourth one is to “KEEP YOUR WORDS”. In friendship it is really important. If you make a promise, then do it whether you like it or not because you are the one who have made it. Keeping your words shows how much you value your friendship with them and I believe that you have also experienced being disappointed by broken promises. Remember that we are here not to disappoint and hurt a friend but to be a friend who brings joy and blessings into their life. Keeping our words is also our integrity according to this verse, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity” (Proverbs 11:3).
The last but not the least on our list is to “HELP OTHERS SUCCEED”. A friend is there to help and not to destroy and discourage. Always think on how you are going to help someone not gaining for you own wealthness. Being a friend that is not egocentric will definitely attract other people to be your new friend.
I hope this pointer will help you to attract new friends. It will always be a good thing to have so many friends because it is one of the precious gift you’ll receive.

PSALM planted, NICE Club watered.....(a testimony)

Then God opened PSALM (Philippine Student Alliance Lay Movement) for me, my first organization. I became familiar with the bible then I end up having my own, na parang ang bilis ng mga pangyayari. And really thank God because He used that organization para makilala Siya ng husto. August 09, 2006 when I received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.

After I received Him marami pang nangyari sa buhay ko na pwedeng maging hadlang para hindi ako mgapatuloy but really He will never let go His promise when He said that never will you be separated from Him once you have received Him in your life.

God opened PSALM for me that I may have His offer of salvation, pero hindi nagtapos doon. He offered me another one, NICE Club (New International Christian Encouragers Club) for me to grow spiritually.

One of my classmates used to go to this club at their “tambayan”, very ventilated na lugar, may dalawang mahabang la mesa, mga halaman at nalililiman ng isang puno. Ganyan kayos at nakakarelax sa pakiramdam if you’re there. We were invited and first visit that tambayan with my classmates Mara, Cheene, KM, Shella and Aiyen. Doon ko naranasan ang tumambay ng may kabuluhan, dahil ang oras naming ay hindi nasasayang sa mga usapang patungkol sa salita ng Panginoon. After that nagging regular tambayan na naminiyon after our class. We have our lunch fellowship, games kantahan, tawanan, kwentuhan, Bible study and ang isa sa nagpapasaya sa amin noon ay ang camera ni Kuya Sam.Picture dito, picture doon! :)

Really we are having fun at the same time growing spiritually with God’s word. Iam really thankful sa mga taong nagging instrument Niya, they were P.Jo, Kuya Sam, Kuya Adam, Kuya Reyan and Ate Barbie.

As days goes by, hindi maiiwasan ang mga pagbabagong nagaganap. Our tambayan is not getting any better, but in everything only God knows why, and I know na kahit nagging mainit na dahil hindi na nalililimanng puno ang tambayan, madumi dahil Maraming estudyanteng hindi alam na iyon pala ay club. What is important is that the members of it are growing in the Lord. Still the tambayan, of NICE Club is very useful in glorifying His name. All things work together for good, to those who love God. Ang dating meron ang NICE Club ay mananatili n God’s grace!

Prasie God for the training He always provided me in this club. God really works in mysterious ways, PSALM planted and NICE Club watered…As of now, I still thank God for the members of our club and continue using everyone for this kind of ministry. I pray that may we continue to pass what we have received from God in many seeking and lost lives of PUPians. 

To this ministry, To God be the glory!!

TEXTimonies
“I thank GOD for His continuous goodness to me, my family and friends. For His continuous guidance and provision of everything we need in our lives, for the strength He gives us to go on with our activities in life, doing everything for His own glory. Thank GOD for the forgiveness He’s always offering us, for being so merciful to us. He never let us down. Thank GOD for all the blessings I’ve receive. Thank GOD for the people that inspire and encourage me to do my desire and of course to GOD that will support my desire specially in my studies, but still, “Thy will be done pa rin!” Thank You and GOD bless
~Jehb of MBC

I’m so blessed having my family, friends and experiences in my life, through them I’ve learned God’s word and enjoy the life that God has given to me!!
~Cheene of NICE

I just thank the Lord for Christian friends whom He uses when we are in need. For people who serves either as an encouragement or challenge for His word that rebukes, corrects and top of all, for His faithfulness to each of our lives.
~ Ivane, MBC

What is New in New Year? Is there really a new person in you after you celebrate New Year? Have you set your New Year’s Resolutions? “This is the false hope that people make”, hoping that New Year gives us new hope...Only 2 Cor.5:17 gives us the new in our lives (00,)astosg
~Muel, MBC

2007 had passed and I have lots of reasons to thank our Lord Jesus. 2007 kasi is the year na nagstart ako ma-involve in ministries ng church naming. Andyan yung maging choir member ako, nagturo ng mga bata about His word at marami pang mga Gawain na alam ko nagglorify an gating Panginoon. In the yar 2007 din na-experience ko yung mga extreme changes sa life ko. Isa na yung magtiwala sa kanya in every point of my life. Sabi niya sa isang song, “Why worry when you can pray?” Isa yan sa mga song na nagbibigay comfort sa akin in time of trouble.
~Marla of NICE

Our spiritual path is based on our deeping trust in God. Trust first allows us to take the initial leap in the dark, to encounter God at the deeper levels of ourselves and guides he intimate refashion of our being. – Thomas Keatin
~Doc Shally of MBC

I thank God for having me, my family and every important person in my life surpassing 2007’s life pressures and problems and continue accepting every blessing He would give us in this year. Of course, I know madami pang burden ang pwedeng dumating but I also know God is always there for someone who accepts Him as His guide and Savior.
~BJ of NICE

I’m very thankful because God always made me strong in every trials that I’ve always encountered like what’s happening to me right now.
~Shella of NICE

The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul, the testimony of the Lord is pure making wise the simple…,truly the Lord our God is great, far beyond what we can comprehend! Proverbs 16:9 says, “A Man’s heart plans his way but the Lord did his steps…” Things may not go as what we’ve planned but God will never mislead us. Let us trust our Lord for His ways are always perfect.
~Mara of GFBC, NICE

Thanks be to God for Christians that looks how great God is and sharing to everyone what God is really doing in their lives, like you! May we continue to build one another. Use our time to help each other grow in their faith. But may we always be reminded also that many are longing for our God’s gift of salvation…May we pass our joy in Christ thru sharing His word to others.
~May of GFBC, NICE

I realized I haven’t given my all to the Lord when He gave everything to me! In Mark 12:44 – She out of her poverty put in all that she had.” It is a great rebuke in giving our all for the Lord including our thoughts, word lifestyle, material, strength and everything we have!(ñ_ñ)May the Lord help us indeed!

D-A-U-G-H-T-E-R

D-A-U-G-H-T-E-R
Being a daughter of our parents and our Lord Jesus Christ as we receive Him as our personal Lord and Savior, he said in His word – John 1:12”Yet to all who receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” What must e our attitude before them?
Come and let us ponder on what GOD had said about it.

In accordance to the book I have read by Cathy Bartel, she pointed out some characteristics we must have such as:
D – elight
A – spire
U – nashamed
G – enerous
H – onor
T – hankful
E – ncourage
R – elationship

Delight “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”-Psalm 37:4(NIV)
Delight means giving keen enjoyment. It is wonderful to know that if we are really delighting ourselves to God, He will give what our desire is and moreover, He has also desires and plans for our lives that He will also give unto us (Jer.29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”). Just like our parents, if we are delighting in them they will be pleased and give what we want and even more than what we want!
Aspire”Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ.” – 1Cor. 11:1
To aspire means to seek, to attain or accomplish a particular goal. As Christians it is very important to aspire following what Jesus Christ have done when He was on earth. Really as person in nature, we cannot perfectly imitate Him as He was holy and righteous but at least we are trying. He will help us to change little by little!(II Cor.5:17) Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!)And also, aspiring people such as or moms, sisters, aunt, a teacher, pastor’s wife or a friend that really desires to be changed. Nobody’s perfect but it’s good to admire people who are genuinely showing God’s love to others. And lastly, aspiring also what Apostle Paul had said in II Cor.11:1, because from time to time many eyes are watchers of your life
Unashamed”Many are saying, of me, God will not deliver him. But you are my shield around me, O Lord. You bestow glory in me and lift up my head. To the Lord I cry aloud, and He answers me from His holy hill.” – Psalm 3:2-4
Unashamed means not ashamed. It is being without guilt, self – consciousness or doubt. We are sinful in nature but GOD loves us that He gave His life for us to cleanse us and take away our sin. It’s very comforting that He’s the one who lift up our head and says, “You are forgiven” (Is.2:18- “Come now let us reason together”, says the Lord.”Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow. Though they are red as crimson, they shall be like a wool.”). We are first ashamed of being a sinner but as we repent and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior we are unashamed, because we know that our God Himself has forgiven us. Being unashamed to our parents and to all people around as if we are doing what is right and knowing that you are taking the path of a godly life.
Generous “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or unde compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” – II Corinthians 9:7
Generous means liberal in giving. God teaches us to be generous in everything. Giving wholeheartedly is very important, it may be small or big, it doesn’t matter as long as our heart is right in giving. Not accepting what we would receive in return. Showing generosity to our parents like simple letters and hug from us, they will be happy. Not only with our parents but to our friends, to our churches(by our offerings) and to our God thru our service and faithfulness to Him.
Honor “Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor your father and mother which is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on earth.” – Ephesians 6:1-2
Honor means one whose worth things respect or fame. God will not tell us to honor our parents if it will not benefit us. Parents know what’s the best and right for us but we may also be reminded that it is said that “obey your parents in the Lord”. The word “in the Lord” indicates that you are not required to obey any parent or authority figure who tells you to do something that is against on the word of God. By honoring our parents we are showing the love of God in us.
Thankful “I thank my God every time I remember you.” – Philippians 1:3
Thankful is an expressive of thanks; well pleased; glad. Being thankful in everything even though in unpleasant circumstances is very relieving. It doesn’t mean that in every bad situation we are just thanking God but instead it is because our trust is in our good Father! Appreciation is a part of a godly manner. Appreciating our parents, relatives, friends and every person we are reaching for because they are God’s blessings for us. By being thankful and grateful opens for happiness and friendship.
Encourage “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of compassion and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have sinned from God” – II Corinthians 1:3-4
Encourage means to inspire or hope. God is our own comforter and encourager. He’s also the one looking around us and to our own family, relatives, friends and other people who are at their downs in life. We must always be ready (I Peter 3:15) to give hope. The feeling of encouragement is comforting in the heart. Be an encourager if you want people to seek you out as a friend. (Eph.4:29)
Relationship “Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12
Relationship means the state of being related or interrelated. Here on earth, we are part of many relationships such as being a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend, best friend, student and the list goes on. But first things first and the most important relationship we must have is the relationship with our heavenly Father. We have that longing to be loved and no one in this world can completely fill that longing except our God. We can do our best to love our parents, relatives and friends but we all fall short. That’s why your first love must be the Lord, because His love never fails and His love also helps cover our failures.

God first loved us. He died for us and what would be our response in everything He has done for us? Are we willing to love Him back and accept Him as our Lord and Savior? Are we longing for the relationship He wants us to have? In everything, your decision holds your life.
